Chalk and Stone

Chalk carvings are what put us "on the map" in the Art World, at least our little part of it.

Chalk figures are not my main focus these days but I do occasionally product a random piece, now and then. Chalk angels are most popular but I do other figures. These pieces are extremely fragile and we have never had any success with shipping these.

While there are many similarities in carving chalk and stone; one takes finesse and the other force. I do have success carving miniatures from soapstone and alabaster, and of course. I do a bit of Indiana limestone also.

Last Supper

My tribute to

Da Vinci's Last Super. Carved in white sidewalk chalk this piece has been featured on the local TV News, and also on the local PBS TV.
